The film is sort of Death Wish meets contemporary European immigration.  With Armie Hammer stepping in for Charles Bronson.

I cannot say that Death Wish was ever my cup of tea.  Too much gratuitous violence, and in this case gratuitous sex, for my taste.  But if the powers that be in Europe, particularly the increasingly authoritarian German regime, feel the need to censor it, then I must do my small part to fight the censorship.

So is the movie any good?  Again, it's not really to my taste.  But if you like the John Wick series, you will like this.  And because the targets are immigrants rather than the mere thugs and criminals in Death Wish, there is definitely a political dimension to this film.  In the end, whether or not you appreciate this film probably depends on your own political convictions.

I will add that both Armie Hammer and Costas Mandylor are excellent in their roles.  Same for the supporting cast.  I suppose the film is classified as low budget, but it is well made and the reduced budget did not interfere with the story.

In summary I would say that the movie is worth watching for its message.  And here I mean, whether you agree with the message or not.  You need to hear it.  This problem is not going away.  And I do not believe that European leaders will sincerely address it.  European elites do not suffer the consequences of their policies and actions, so they do not care.  Ultimately that is the message of this film.

I hope it is the most widely seen film this year.

The deliberate obtuseness of government towards immigration

The unfortunate reality of the coming civil war, no matter what form it may take, is that the belligerents will be lower class and lower-middle class native British people on one side and Muslim immigrants on the other.  In an ideal world, a just world, it would be the natives versus the government that has delivered this mess upon the nation.  And here I mean each and every individual member of government who played a part.  These are the people who should pay most dearly for their own recklessness.

To all the striving middle class and upper-middle class Brits who Perry describes as not wanting to be like Tommy Robinson, I would simply say:  It is not your daughters getting raped.  You could not care less about those working and lower class girls.  This says something fundamental about your character.  And it is your indifference that will be largely responsible for the coming civil war.  Honestly, you richly deserve what is coming.

The Elevator Test

After living in the third world for the last four years, I can assure you this test is valid.  If members of a society never learn to treat each other well, we cannot expect them to come into our societies (of the West) and treat us well.  And this is an obvious test; there are less flagrant attitudes and behaviors.  If high-caste Indians look down on all other Indians, they will undoubtedly look down on you as well.  After all, you are not even Indian, much less Brahmin.

The Collapse of Europe

It will end in fire

Benedict Beckeld on Europe:  Either these countries become Islamic, or there will be large scale violence.  There is no third way forward.

I mean, you do not have to be a philosopher, like Boghossian and Beckeld, or an oracle to see that this is true.  The only aspect of this difficult to predict is the timeline.  But even with the current numbers, if European countries were to close their borders to Islamic immigration, or God-forbid, start mass deportations, the current resident Muslims would burn these countries to the ground.

But it will not come to that.  The docile Europeans?  No chance.  There will be no fight; there will be no violence.  The Europeans will willingly submit to the muscular and aggressive ideology sweeping the continent.  It is already happening, has been happening for a couple of decades now.  It is simply more obvious today.

If you doubt this, just look at the United Kingdom.  Muslim men have been raping native girls on an industrial scale for years now.  And the native, so-called men, they're just sitting around, watching it happen.  Can you just imagine what the Swedish geldings are doing?  Or rather not doing?  It's a joke really.  The Muslims are laughing at them.  Of course they are.  Of course.

And since there is no recognition of the problem by the elites in government and media, much less any will to solve it, the massive influx will continue, exacerbating and accelerating the problem.  I would say that we are long past the point of no return.

I agree with Boghossian, these countries and the native Europeans, have no one to blame except themselves.  If you live in one of these countries, it is time to leave.  If you believe that you still have time, and I do not know, maybe you do, at least develop an exit plan for yourself and your family.

Europe is lost.

The Attack, by Kurt Schlichter

An Hamas-style attack on America

Yesterday, this site featured a new film that everyone should see.  Today, we bring you a new book that everyone should read.

The Attack, by Kurt Schlichter ★★★★★ Kurt Schlichter (Self published) 7 January 2024 336 pages Fiction $ 24.24 (Hardcover) $ 16.27 (Paperback) $  6.99 (Kindle) * Prices accurate on date of this post.

Schlichter sets the book in late August 2024.  But the truth is, this could happen any day now.  And while this book is fiction, the events it describes will absolutely happen unless the United States returns to a secure border policy, and a common sense immigration policy.  And what are the chances of that?

It's a great book and certainly worth reading.  But I disagree with one of the central themes of the book.  Schlichter believes that if the US is attacked in such a manner, the average citizen will fight back.  Or at least, enough of them will fight back.  But after the incredibly meek response by these same citizens during the Covid lockdowns and mandates, I just cannot agree with him.  Sadly, as we have seen, Americans have become sheep.  And they will be led to the slaughter.

Even more recently, look how people, especially younger left-of-center types (and even the police), have reacted to the Hamas supporters across the West.  Again, meekly.  In the US, they have a First Amendment right to say what they want.  But student visas and such could be revoked.  The FBI could monitor Dearborn radicals like it monitors conservative Catholics.  But in fact, the current administration panders to Muslims.

And as I have written before, if the federal government initiates gun registrations or confiscation, how will most people react?  Let's say for example, in a Kamala Harris or Michelle Obama administration.  My guess:  Compliantly.  In any case, this is one reason I think Schlichter set the book so soon in the future – to ensure that a lot of citizens still had firearms.  And his theory that people would be willing to use them makes for a great story.  I enjoyed it anyway.  But it is fiction.

I think Schlichter would argue the point with me.  And I hope I am wrong.  Though I will add this, if we altered his story just a bit, and the terrorists only attacked blue states (rather than all states as set out in the book), would the outcome not be vastly different?  The terrorists could still do tremendous damage and without being immediately gunned down.

I would like to share two passages from the book.  The first describes woke progressive students and academics, and their attitude towards the Palestinian/Hamas attack on Israel:

It meant that rape and torture and murder were allowed if the right oppressed people did it to the right oppressors.

Schlichter adds:  And they made it clear that this moral construct applied to America as well.  I had not thought about it in such stark and extreme terms, but clearly this is correct.  Remember, the progressives revere Marx and Che Guevara, not Gandhi or even Martin Luther King, Jr.

Second, describing Islamist terrorists:

Some people try to call it madness.  It is not.  Do not think of them as insane.  That gives them a moral pass for choosing a barbaric moral framework.  They are not mad.  They are evil.  And they are usually fully prepared to die in perpetuating their evil, either from pride or what we see as ridiculous promises of paradise with their virgins and so forth.

The only thing I could possibly add is that a good number of ordinary Muslims share that barbaric moral framework even if they do not act on it.  Their religion is not like other religions, and until we accept this reality, we will not be able to counter it.  They do not have a Live and let live mentality.  They certainly do not have a Golden Rule mentality.  Rather their's is the mentality of ancient Arabian raiders:  Convert, submit, or die.  And this novel is a manifestation of that injunction.

Finally, let me say this about Schlichter's ending where the United States bombs Iran, expels all illegal immigrants, kills the Mexican cartels, and builds a serious border wall with a serious border protection force.  What would it take for that to happen?  Under any administration?  In his novel, the terrorists kill 162,172 Americans.  I think that number is correct.  It would take near-about that many dead Americans for our government to do its job, and take proper and responsible actions to protect the country.

How sad is that?

How to Solve Illegal Immigration: Tax Remittances

To address this problem seriously, jail employers and tax remittances

While everyone seems to agree that this is a problem, to my mind there is little or no national will to really address it.  So we can build border walls and otherwise attempt to police the inflow.  Or, we can look for smarter, more effective strategies.  When and if we ever decide to get serious about the problem, I have two proposals.

The first is easy:  Start jailing employers.  And make a lot of noise about it.  Keep it up until all employers of illegal immigrants constantly fear arrest.  I have zero sympathy for these people.  They all know exactly what they are doing, and often take advantage of the truly vulnerable immigrants.  I know employers who pay next to nothing and work the immigrants like slaves.  Maybe worse, I know an employer who has sex with all his immigrant female employees.  How can they say no?  And what does he care if they won't have sex with him, he simply won't hire them, and there's a line at the door.

That's easy enough if we have the will...and the decency.  My second proposal is a bit more complicated.

Most people believe that taxes are about raising revenue for government expenditure.  And they certainly can be.  But taxes can also be used to alter behavior.  For an example we are all familiar with:  If we tax cigarettes highly enough, many people will choose not to smoke, if for no other reason than they can no longer afford it.

I am not sure who said it, but I have always liked this line:  Remember, if you tax something, you will get less of it.  It may have been Milton Friedman, who had a genius for stating the obvious.

So let's first ask why people come to the United States today?  Do they come here for the same reason that people came through Ellis Island a century ago?  To build a new life and become Americans?  I am sure some do – But those folks mostly choose the legal immigration route.  Today most people coming to the United States illegally have other plans.  They come here, they work as long and as much as they can, then they go home.  That's the plan from the get go.  If you don't believe this is true, just strike up a conversation with any of them.

And while they are here, they send money home to their families.  This is the whole point – To send money home.

So I would like to propose a tax that will not raise any revenue.  Or not much anyway.  Believe me, I am not interested in giving the government more money from any source or from anyone.  Let me explain.

Proposal:  Tax remittances at 50%.

Let's use an example:

A person (US citizen, legal immigrant, illegal immigrant, anyone) walks into a Western Union, as typically found in most grocery and convenience stores, to send $1,000 overseas.  I don't care where, this would apply to all overseas countries.  Here's how it would work:  $500 would go overseas and $500 would go to the IRS.  Plus any transaction fee Western Union charges.

Now this $500 tax paid could be later used as a credit on income taxes.  So, the person gets it back in full.  And ultimately no tax is paid.

So why the rigamarole?  Well notice this:  In order to get the tax back, one does have to file income taxes.  So American citizens and legal immigrants end up not paying the Remittance Tax.  And rightfully so.  They've already paid income taxes on their money.  They can do whatever they like with it.

So who pays the Remittance Tax?  Anyone who does not file income taxes.  And who does not file income taxes?  Illegal immigrants.  Notice also:  The reason to set it up this way is so the clerks do not have to determine if the person is a taxpayer or not.  Everyone pays the Remittance Tax up front.  Makes it easy; I'm not trying to construct a mini-DMV here.

But of course, the illegals are not going to pay it either.  No one in his right mind would be willing to pay a 50% tax.  So remittances would stop.  But remember what  I said above, the whole reason they are here is to send money home.  If remittances are outrageously taxed, they are basically unavailable.  And if remittances are unavailable, there is no reason to be here.

Again, there would be no reason to be here.

Now is this a complete solution?  Certainly not.  I am a big believer in Thomas Sowell's injunction that there are no solutions, only tradeoffs.

People would still come here illegally; they would just look for other ways to get money home.  And the whole remittance process would be pushed underground.  Instead of going to the supermarket, illegal immigrants would find their way to the backroom of some shady convenience store, where some greasy guy and a couple of toughs would take his money, and for a fat fee, someone overseas would provide money to the family.  See Hawala.

Pricey.  And probably less than trustworthy.

So people would carry their own money and money for others.  No doubt, we'd see cash mules.  People would mail money.  I'm sure any number of ways would spring up to get money home.

So I am not suggesting that this proposal completely solves the problem.  But it does make it more inconvenient and more expensive to send money overseas (if you don't file income taxes).

Currently this much is certainly true:  No matter how easy or difficult it is for illegal immigrants to enter the US, sending money overseas is extremely easy and cheap for anyone.

It should not be.

Ultimately, a Remittance Tax would work like any other so-called sin tax.  If we tax remittances by illegal immigrants, we'll get less remittances by illegal immigrants.

The Most Courageous Person Alive

Ayaan Hirsi Ali

Ayaan Hirsi Ali is the most courageous person living in the world today.

If you don't know her story, you should Google her.  In 2004, she wrote the text for the short film Submission.  The film's director, Theo van Gogh, was murdered several days after its release.  His assassin left a letter threatening Hirsi Ali pinned with a knife to the dead van Gogh.  You can't make this stuff up.

And yet, Hirsi Ali has continued to write about and speak out about Islam.  Here she sits down with Dave Rubin.

It is rather refreshing to go from writing about the low integrity experience of working at Amazon to sharing this video of the person who is setting the global standard for high integrity today.  If you like this video, here she is talking with Bari Weiss.  Here she is with Ben Shapiro.  All three of these conversations are worth your time.
